PharMerica's Model Psychotropic Stewardship Program
Psychotropics continue to be a topic of survey focus, with substantial regulatory oversight afforded to this high-risk drug class. PharMerica recently released an annual update to its model Psychotropic Stewardship Program, which helps facilities operate as proper stewards of psychotropic medications. The 2025-26 edition includes updated forms, resources, and continuing education programs in addition to the program’s core elements checklist, sample policies and procedures, reporting and tracking templates, and more.
Included in this year's Psychotropic Stewardship Program, these guidelines have been updated to align with the 2025 CMS State Operations Manual Appendix PP revisions related to psychotropic medications.
The CDC now recommends RSV vaccination for adults as young as 50 who are at increased risk, marking a significant update to previous guidelines. This change aims to better protect vulnerable populations from severe respiratory illness. Resources below provide more detail on the updated recommendations.
