Model Facility Opioid Stewardship Program (2025)

PharMerica’s Model Facility Opioid Stewardship Program has been renewed for 2025. Updates to the CMS State Operations Manual this year suggest continued surveyor scrutiny on this high-risk class of drugs. This annual program renewal responds to those regulatory revisions, comments on novel products on the market, and includes new resources to support LTC facilities with regulatory compliance and resident pain outcomes. Clients should reach out to their Account Managers for more information.

Age-Friendly Pharmacist Campaign

To support older adults in managing medications and aligning care with what matters most to them, the Age-Friendly Pharmacist initiative brings long-term care pharmacy expertise into the Age-Friendly Health Systems movement. Funded by the John A. Hartford Foundation, the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) aims to educate pharmacy champions on the 4Ms Framework, partnering with the Peter Lamy Center on Drug Therapy and Aging to champion age-friendly care.

May 4-10 is Tardive Dyskinesia Week. Tardive Dyskinesia (TD) is a neurologic disorder characterized by abnormal, involuntary, and repetitive movements. As these movements can affect an individual’s physical, social, and emotional well-being, consider taking time this week to learn more about TD and educate staff on signs, treatments, and ways you can help reduce stigma.
