FDA Approves Two RSV Vaccines
Both GSK and Pfizer recently won FDA approval for RSV vaccines and are planning to begin offering them this fall. The CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) met this month and, upon reviewing the available data, drafted recommendations for use of these newly approved vaccines in adults 60 and older. These recommendations are pending approval from the CDC Director and the Department of Health and Human Services. If approved, more than 55 million adults will be eligible to receive an RSV vaccine.
